Mission

Our commitment is to provide professional police services through proactive methods of law enforcement and community partnerships to promote a desirable quality of life.

Values

We, the members of the Evans Police Department, are proudly committed to and guided by the following core values in achieving our mission:

  • Respect for life and human diversity
  • Organizational and personal integrity
  • Excellence in service
  • Building community relationships
  • Progressive policing
  • Teamwork

Patrol Service Officers respond to calls for service and conduct follow-up investigations, while enforcing federal and state laws, as well as municipal ordinances. Specialized assignments to the bike patrol unit in our patrol division give officers a variety of opportunities for personal development and career advancement, while bringing us face to face with our community.

Community Outreach programs provide officers with the opportunity to educate diverse cross sections of our community. Officers provide crime prevention and safety education for our citizens through a Citizens Police Academy, Neighborhood Watch, Crime Free Multi-Housing Program, and other interactive opportunities.

Criminal investigations offer experienced officers a different side of policing and the development of specialized skills used to resolve complex criminal acts. Associations with a regional multi-agency narcotics task force and gang unit enhance the protection of our citizens and neighborhoods.

The City of Evans community is protected by a complement of 29 police officers who provide service 24-hours a day. Police Department offices are housed in the Evans Community Complex which is located at 1100 37th Street.
