Idaho Street / Railroad Pond Improvements Construction

Idaho Street from 42nd to 40th Street has been identified as a street where Evans can solve multiple infrastructure problems with one project. The existing waterlines under Idaho Street are old and undersized. There is no storm sewer infrastructure in Idaho Street causing the dirt road to be nearly impassable at times. To remedy these issues, Evans worked with CivilWorx to design the following:

  • Replacement of aging 6-inch waterline with 8-inch PVC waterline in Idaho, 40th and 41st Streets,
  • Installation of storm sewer infrastructure to intercept and convey storm water to the detention  pond on the north side of 40th Street, and
  • Pavement of Idaho Street to make it more drivable in storm events.

Along with the Idaho Street improvements, Evans/CivilWorx designed the following:

  • Expansion of the existing Railroad detention pond on the north side of 40th Street and west of Denver to store and release stormwater slowly into the existing downstream storm sewer infrastructure,
  • Plan for extension of storm sewer from Railroad detention pond east on 39th Street to bring stormwater to the pond. (preliminary design only), and
  • Plan for additional storm sewer inlets along Denver Street between 39th and 40th Streets to bring more stormwater to the pond. (preliminary design only).
