35th Avenue Mill & Overlay Project breaks ground in August

As part of the City of Evans ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality and appearance of the city’s streets, the City will break ground on the 2022 Mill and Overlay Project on 35th Avenue between 37th Street and the Greeley city limit. The construction will result in a much smoother driving surface and extend the life of this major arterial road in Evans. Construction will take place throughout the month of August.

To accommodate commuters and pedestrians while the road is under construction, traffic control will be established to guide residents through the construction zone. Travel will be facilitated through informative signage, strategically placed orange cones, and Law Enforcement assistance at various times. Drivers should anticipate intermittent lane closures and delays. Please plan to use alternate routes to alleviate traffic congestion during construction.

The road improvements will be completed in two phases:

PHASE 1: Beginning the first week of August, the work will be limited in scope to remove concrete collars around manholes and water valve boxes. Rolling lane closures will be utilized as the work progresses. The estimated time of completion for this portion of the construction is one week.

PHASE 2: In mid-August, the milling and overlaying portion will begin. It is the most significant portion of the project and is expected to continue through the end of the month. Travelers should anticipate significant delays and traffic congestion and Law Enforcement will assist with traffic control during this time. The City of Evans thanks the residents for their patients while we work to improve the roads.
