What is it?

City cleanup events occur twice per year in the spring and fall to assist Evans residents in disposing of large or bulky trash and debris. The purpose of the event is to supplement weekly trash service with an opportunity to dispose of tree limbs, yard debris, unwanted furniture, refrigerators, and other regular household waste. 

We will have E-Cycle on site to take some home electronic equipment including: Consumer printers including Printer/Fax/Copy machines weighing less than 30lbs consumer, desktop Computers complete or incomplete, laptops with undamaged screens, networking equipment (cable modems, phone modems, switches, routers, hubs, cables also known as CAT# cable), computer cabling (hard drive cables, power cables, networking cables, audio cables for computer equipment), consumer level backup powers units less than 30lbs with non-damaged batteries (those leaking lead or acid will NOT be accepted), individual computer components (floppy drives, optical (CD/DVD/BlueRay) drives, video cards, sound cards, networking cards, motherboards, cooling fans, RAM Memory, and CPUs, fat bd scanners consumer level lighter than 30lbs (undamaged with intact glass), document scanners under 30lbs, computer speakers and associated cables, game controllers and consoles. 

Who can participate?

Evans utility customers who pay for their trash service through their bill will receive one free voucher delivered to their physical mailbox. Proof of residency such as a driver's license or water bill verifying their home address will be required at the entrance of the event. 

How much does it cost?

One pickup load or small trailer of trash or yard debris currently costs $10. Larger loads will require additional fees as calculated by staff. Tires start at $4 per passenger vehicle tire without a rim, $9 with rim. Semi and Commercial tires $20 without a rim and $35 with rim. All other larger tires will have a higher cost. Off the road tires not accepted. Evans utility customers will receive one free voucher per event by mail.

What is NOT accepted?

Household hazardous waste, certain electronics (TVs and computer monitors), fluids, chemicals, and other toxic or hazardous waste is not accepted at the event. Tree branches/limbs longer than 10-feet or thicker than 8-inches must be cut down below these sizes prior to dumping. Many of these items may be recycled throughout the year at various locations. Boats, vehicles, recreational vehicles, hot tubs, and other oversized items will not be accepted. Please contact a salvage yard or waste hauler for more information on disposing of these items.
