Fred moved to a brand new home in Evans in 1979. Since then, he's become an active member of the community. During his more than 40 years in the Queen City of the Platte, he has served on the Water Audit Committee, the Flood Recovery Task Force and has served on the Citizen’s Police Advisory Council since its inception more than a decade ago.

Fred is pleased to use his $300 a month stipend (minus taxes) for serving on City Council to fully donate to non-profits. Pirate Radio has received a donation to sponsor children’s Bible stories and Fred’s first year salary will fund a Compassion International Mission trip to Ecuador in June. Both are certified 501 © 3 non-profits. In 2018, Fred made cash donations to the following organizations: Les Feldick Ministries, Grace Place (Compassion International Mission trip to Ecuador), Gideon's International, Pirate Radio (Kid's Bible Chat), Habitat for Humanity, Greeley Chamber Orchestra, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Special Olympics, Center for American Values, Crazy Horse Memorial, Wreaths Across America, PTSD Monument to be build in Garden City totaling over $14,000 dollars. 

Fred Neal grew up in Loveland and graduated from Loveland High School in 1967. He is graduate of Aims Community College and the University of Northern Colorado (BS in Accounting). Fred has worked a variety of jobs and shifts; including storeroom work at Monfort of Colorado for thirteen years, various positions with Aims Community College, and he retired from the Colorado Department of Transportation as warehouse supervisor and buyer at the age of 52. Fred also served in the U.S. Navy for six years. His work required a secret security clearance and he received an honorable discharge in 1974.

Fred loves to travel, meet new people and experience new cultures. He has driven in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. He’s visited the United Nations, Mexico, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Viet Nam, Taiwan, Canada, Guam, Saipan, Iceland, Guatemala, Peru and El Salvador. He enjoys tent camping, biking, hiking, gardening, bowling, rafting, canoeing, caves, Disney World, old roller coasters, board games, archery, sci-fi, soccer and lots more, always with friends.

Volunteer activities have included coaching, referring, teaching, fun runs, health fairs, children’s Christmas parties and more.

Fred has received numerous medals, awards, certificates, plaques and letters for his naval and volunteer service. His greatest reward is always a child’s smile.
