The Evans City Council is made up of 7 members, with a mayor elected at large and two council members representing each of three wards. Council elections are held in April of every even-numbered year.
Evans operates under the Council-Manager form of government and follows a Home Rule Charter first adopted in 1973. Under the Charter, the City Council appoints a city manager, city attorney, and municipal judge as well as members of all advisory boards and commissions.
The City’s mission is to deliver sustainable, citizen-driven services for the health, safety, and welfare of the community.
