The City of Evans accepts online employment submissions through ADP (Human Resources HRIS system) for open job vacancies only. In order to officially apply and express interest, applicant must set up an account with a username, password and email address within the
ADP Workforce Now system. Please keep your username and password for future reference. Once your account is established, an online employment submission can be submitted for available positions. An online employment application must be submitted for each available position for which you desire to apply. If hired, an official City application will be required.
No, the City of Evans is unable to accept applications for jobs that are not open. Each new announced vacancy, requires a separate submission through the online application process, in addition to completing the supplemental questions that correspond to each posted vacancy.
No, unfortunately a resume will not be accepted in lieu of an application. You will have the opportunity during the online application process to attach a resume and/or cover letter.
The closing date for each position is listed on the position vacancy announcement as posted on the City’s website. Once the position closes, the vacancy announcement will be removed from the website and applications will no longer be accepted. Some position vacancy announcements are listed as “Open Until Filled” under the closing date. A vacancy designated as Open Until Filled means applications will be accepted until the position is filled and the posting is closed.
Please note, periodic review of applications are conducted at various times. It is in your best interest to apply as early as possible in order to ensure that your application is considered during the initial review and selection process; vacancies may close without any advance notice.
After you have submitted your online application, you will receive an immediate confirmation email, notifying you that your application has been successfully received and the respective supervisor will be notified of your submission.
Applications will be reviewed by Human Resources and the hiring supervisor to carefully select candidates that meet minimum qualifications of the position. Candidates possessing the most desirable qualifications and those that best meet the departments’ needs, will be invited to participate in an interview. Only the applicants that are scheduled for interviews will be contacted.
There are many factors which affect the amount of time it takes to fill a position. For example, deadlines for advertising, application screening, reference checking, pre-employment testing, the hiring department’s schedule, and background checks, etc.

Each position and hiring process is different, but we typically complete the pre-employment process within 2 weeks. Once a conditional offer of employment is extended, the following steps may occur and are based on the type of position and nature of the duties/job performed:
