42nd Street eastbound to be closed beginning Monday, Aug. 18

Beginning on Monday, Aug. 18, both eastbound lanes of 42nd Street/Prairie View Drive will be closed from east of 23rd Ave. to 35th Ave. while crews work on a full-depth reconstruction of the roadway and adjoining curb and gutter as part of the 2025 Major Roads Projects.

The westbound lanes (currently closed) will be opened for one-way traffic by the evening of Friday, Aug. 15.

While the closure of the eastbound lanes are in place, access will be limited in the following ways:
• Access to the Cave Creek neighborhood will be available ONLY via Sage Brush Blvd. off of 35th Ave. Access to Cave Creek at Cedar Lane will NOT be available.
• Access to The Ridge at Prairie View will be available at 29th Ave./Blue Bells Dr. on the western side of the neighborhood. Please note, later during the construction process, this access point will be closed and motorists will be able to enter/exit The Ridge at Prairie View via Harbor Ln. near Ridge Park. We will inform of when this switchover takes place.
• Motorists wanting to reach points of interest to the east, such as NOCO Humane or Freedom Dog Park, will need to use 17th Ave. to access 42nd St./Prairie View Dr. as eastbound traffic via 23rd Ave. will not be available.

Work on this portion of the project will last until Oct. 14.
