In April, a culvert that conveys water from the Evans Ditch under 49th Street in the vicinity of 35th Avenue suffered a catastrophic failure forcing a road closure. At the Evans City Council meeting on Nov. 3, unanimous approval was given to a contract with Mountain Constructors for the needed repairs that will replace the culvert and construct a new roadway segment. Final design work will be completed in the coming weeks with work to begin immediately afterwards. A contractually obligated completion date is set on or before March 15, 2026. The City of Evans administrative offices will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 in observation of Christmas. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and joyous holiday season. The city will resume normal business hours on Friday, Dec. 26.
