City of Evans Seeking Applicants for Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
City of Evans Seeking Applicants for Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
The City of Evans is now accepting applications from residents interested in serving on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board. This volunteer board plays an important role in supporting the continued development and enhancement of the City’s parks, trails, and recreational opportunities.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meets once a month on the third Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and serves in an advisory capacity to the Evans City Council and the City's Parks and Recreation Divisions.
Board members provide input and recommendations on a variety of topics, including the City of Evans Park System Master Plan, the Trails and Open Space Master Plan, and policies, rules, and regulations related to parks and recreational facilities. The board also advises on the use of City parks and facilities, future land acquisition and development for parks and open space, and criteria for recreational programming and facilities. In addition, the board offers recommendations regarding rules and regulations for the Evans Cemetery.
While the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board provides valuable guidance and insight, it does not have authority over matters assigned to the Evans Planning Commission and does not make binding decisions. Its role is to support informed decision-making by City leadership.
Serving on the board is an excellent opportunity for residents to get involved in their community, contribute to long-term planning efforts, and help shape the future of parks and recreation in Evans.
Residents interested in applying are encouraged to submit an application.
