42nd Street eastbound to be closed beginning Monday, Aug. 18

Both eastbound lanes of 42nd Street/Prairie View Drive will be closed from east of 23rd Avenue to 35th Avenue from Aug. 18 through Oct. 14 due to full-depth reconstruction. Westbound traffic will be open but access to neighborhoods and points of interest will be limited. Please see the City news feed for further details. 

Evans City Council meeting and work session Aug. 19

The Evans City Council will hold their bi-monthly meeting tonight at the Evans Community Complex. A work session is slated to begin at 5pm, and the regular meeting will begin at 7pm.

What's on the agenda?

Work Session

  • The third budget presentation as work continues to finalize the 2026 operating and capital budget.
  • An interview with a candidate to fill the alternate spot on the City's Planning Commission. 
Regular Meeting
  • A contract amendment related to early procurement of materials for new Evans police station. 
  • An ordinance related to changing some right-of-way dedications in the Liberty Draw development.
  • Public hearing for an on-premises liquor license for Jarrito's Taco Shack.
  • The Council will consider authorizing a ballot measure to indefinitely extend the 1% sales tax for road maintenance and construction.
