April Edition of the Evans Express Now Available
The City of Evans has released the April 2026 edition of the Evans Express, the city’s official community newsletter. The latest issue highlights key infrastructure updates, community events, public safety initiatives, and recreation opportunities designed to keep residents informed and connected.
Highlights from the April edition include:
Lane Striping Improvements on 37th & 42nd Streets
New high-visibility lane striping has been completed on two of Evans’ primary east-west corridors, improving traffic flow and enhancing motorist safety with minimal disruption to the public.
Community Clean-Up Event – April 25
Residents can dispose of yard waste, bulky items, and other materials during the annual cleanup event. Vouchers are $15 and available at the Evans Community Complex or at the gate on the day of the event.
National Drug Take Back Day – April 25
A safe and convenient opportunity to dispose of unused or expired medications will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sam’s Club, helping prevent misuse and protect the environment.
Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Applications Open
The City is seeking residents to serve on this volunteer board, helping guide decisions related to parks, trails, recreation programming, and long-range planning.
Stormwater Infrastructure Investment Update
City Council approved redirecting funding toward a new stormwater project connecting Ridge Ponds to the South Platte River, providing more immediate and effective drainage improvements.
New Evans Police Station Construction Progress
Construction continues to move forward, with interior work underway. The new facility will enhance officer safety, training capacity, and long-term recruitment and retention.
Community Partnerships Making an Impact
A generous donation from Sam’s Club helped provide food resources to local families and schools, supporting community well-being.
