National Night Out on Aug. 5

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Evans Police Department. National Night Out presents an opportunity for neighborhoods to come together with the Evans Police Department, the Mayor and members of the City Council, Officials from the city administration and local business leaders to build a strong sense of purpose and community.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for (and participation in) local anti-crime efforts, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized.

To commemorate the 42nd Anniversary of the Event, the City of Evans will be hosting two public events to celebrate National Night Out:

  • City Park at the corner of 39th Street and Golden Street from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. FREE pizza, cold drins and dessert will be provided.
  • DaVinci Park at 4117 Florence Avenue from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. FREE hot dogs, chips, cold drins and dessert will be provided.
