THE ROAD AHEAD

Since its inception in mid-2020, the 1% Road Ahead sales and use tax has generated $16.6 million in revenue that has been used exclusively for the
maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and expansion of the city's surface transportation network.
Projects completed using this revenue stream have significantly improved transportation in Evans, made the city more attractive to developers, and provided a long-run cost savings to taxpayers as repair and maintenance work prolongs the lifespan of roadways to prevent the need for more expensive and disruptive projects resulting from catastrophic failures.
Check out the link below for a review of the projects completed using The Road Ahead revenue, view an interactive story map, and read a rundown of potential future projects the city is considering should the tax be renewed.
