Fatal Traffic Accident on Saturday. June 20

The City of Evans Police Department regrets sharing the news of a fatal motor vehicle / scooter accident that occurred in the vicinity of the 47^th Avenue and Cedar Park Drive intersection at 5:58 p.m. on the evening of June 20, 2026. 

A Ram 2500 pickup truck traveling northbound on 47^th Avenue was preparing to make a left turn onto Cedar Park Drive when it collided with a Vespa scooter traveling southbound on 47^th Avenue. Initial investigation determined the operator of the scooter attempted to lay down the scooter but was unable to avoid collision with the pickup. 

The operator of the scooter, a 32-year-old Weld County man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ram pickup was a 39-year-old Evans man. The Evans Police Department does not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident. 

Investigation as to cause of the accident is on-going and more information, including the name of the deceased, will be made publicly available at a future time.
