Law Enforcement Torch Run Coming Through Evans September 30

The Evans Police Department will participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Colorado on Wednesday, September 30, carrying the torch through several areas of Evans before passing it to the UNC Police Department.

The Evans portion of the run will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. at 23rd Avenue and 34th Street. Community members are encouraged to come out along the route and cheer on participating officers and runners.

Evans Route

The run will travel:

• East on 34th Street from 23rd Avenue to 17th Avenue

• South on 17th Avenue to 37th Street

• East on 37th Street, including a loop through the Evans Community Complex

• To the new Evans Police Department at 3737 St. Vrain Street

• Back to 37th Street and north on 11th Avenue

• Across Highway 34, finishing just north of the highway near Burger King

At the conclusion of the Evans portion, the torch will be passed to the UNC Police Department, which will continue the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Residents and visitors are invited to support the runners from locations along 34th Street, 17th Avenue, 37th Street, near the Evans Community Complex and Police Department, and along 11th Avenue.

For everyone’s safety, spectators should remain on sidewalks or in another safe viewing location, stay clear of the roadway, and follow directions from officers and event personnel.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run helps raise awareness and support for Special Olympics Colorado and its athletes. The City of Evans and Evans Police Department look forward to seeing the community along the route as officers help carry the torch through Evans.
