Some City Neighborhoods to Transition to Potable Water for Irrigation on Aug. 28
Non-Potable Irrigation System Update
The City of Evans has been notified by the Greeley Loveland Irrigation Company (GLIC) that water deliveries will no longer be available after August 28 due to ongoing drought conditions and limited water supplies.
As a result, beginning August 28, all City-operated non-potable irrigation systems not served by the Ridge Pump Station will transition to potable (drinking) water for the remainder of the 2026 irrigation season.
For customers served by these systems, outdoor irrigation will begin being billed at the City's potable water rates with the next billing cycle.
Who is affected?
• Properties served by City-operated non-potable irrigation systems outside of The Ridge at Prairie View and Willowbrook neighborhoods will transition to potable water on August 28 and will begin paying potable water rates for outdoor irrigation at the next billing cycle.
Who is NOT affected?
• Customers who receive irrigation water directly from the Evans Town Ditch system in East Evans are not affected by this change.
• Residents in The Ridge at Prairie View and Willowbrook, whose non-potable water supply does not come from the GLIC system, supplied by the Evans Town Ditch, are not affected at this time and will continue receiving non-potable irrigation water as usual.
• Please note, City staff is closely monitoring the Big Thompson River conditions and Evans Town Ditch water supply availability and will provide further information if operational changes are deemed necessary.
