AVIS Information

At the Aug. 18, 2026 meeting of the Evans City Council, unanimous approval (7-0) was given to Resolution No. 24-2026, designated corridors where the AVIS speed camera equipment will be deployed. The City will be deploying one fixed and one mobile AVIS unit. To view the presentation Evans Chief of Police Randy Darlin made at the meeting, please go here. 

The four corridors are as follows:

• 37th Street – 65th Avenue to Highway 85
• 42nd Street / Prairie View Drive – 35th Avenue to Highway 85
• 11th Avenue – From the southern edge of the intersection with Highway 34 to the intersection with 37th Street (the entrance to the Evans Community Complex)
• 35th Avenue – From the northern city limits (roughly the 3200 block) to 49th Street

Each corridor will allow for east/west or north/south AVIS deployment. 37th Street, in the vicinity of the intersection with Palermo Avenue, will be the location of the fixed system. The mobile unit will be deployed in any of the four approved corridors, including 37th Street.
