The Building Division staff maintains building codes and ordinances, properly interprets the City's building codes, conducts thorough plan reviews, and inspects new building construction and renovation. Building safety is supported by licensing all businesses and general contractors that work within the City.

We currently follow the 2018 I-Codes, along with the 2023 NEC as adopted by the State of Colorado.

License Requirements 

The City of Evans does not issue contractor licenses; however, a business license is required for anyone doing business inside Evans city limits. Plumbing and electrical contractors must provide their state license number on each application. Please visit the business license page for applications and more information.
